A few people inquired this weekend about the gray water modification I had done to our camper. This is by far the best modification I have done. Thanks to a few people on the casitaforum.com that came up with this.

Just read through it and you will see there are a couple ways it can be done. Some people use 2 rubber couplings, one at the valve and one at the tank. I did not find it necessary to use one at the valve on our camper and think that it makes for a stronger install. It is really not that hard and after you get the parts just lay it out and study it for a few minutes. Build the "T" section and valves first. Get 8 nylon locking nuts to use on the valves instead of using the nuts that come with the valves. This will allow you to not have to tighten up the nuts as much so your "T" will swivel when you're done. Trial fit all your pipe before gluing to make sure you don't have any binding. I was able to get the 2" black pipe and elbows at Lowes. Make sure you get the reducer in the bottom of the new flange at the proper angle so it is at the bottom when attached to the valve. The thing that took me the longest was after completing the piping you have to figure out where to attach your hanger. I was able to get a piece of perforated angle from the hardware store and bolt it to the angle on the frame then attach my hanger to that. If you have any questions just drop me a note.
My tank was not full at Bandy Creek but it took about 1 1/2 minutes to drain my gray water.
Here is the shopping list for which all credit goes to the casitaforum.com
From Lowe's you will need--
(1) 5' of 2" black ABS pipe (you may have to buy 10'
(1) 2" x 45 degree ABS ell (female fittings on both ends)
(1) 2" x 45 degree ABS street ell (female on one end and male on the other end)
(2) 2" solid rubber connectors with stainless clamps (they come with them) (may only use one)
(1) 1 1/2" stainless jacketed connector (you are only going to use the rubber insert from this part)
(2) stainless hose clamps (used alongside the two on one of the rubber connectors for a double clamp on each end at the tank) ( I did not find this necessary)
(1) can of ABS cement
(1) 2" EMT hanger bracket (in the electrical conduit section)
(1) 2' piece of 5/16" threaded rod (will be cut off and used to support the EMT bracket)
4) 5/16" nuts (I used nylon nuts for this too)
(2) 5/16" lock washers
(
nylon locking nuts for valves
All the remaining Valterra parts can be purchased at Al's RV Supplies at 51st Ave and Bell Road (he started stocking them for us) (I just searched for the part numbers and got most of mine at Amazon.com)
(1) T1039 (3" rotating flange)
(1) T1005 (3" slip hub)
(1) T1041-2 (3" x 2" eccentric)
(2) T1003VP (3" gate valves) (if only replacing both valves otherwise just one)
